Ursa Minor or The Small Bear is one of the 88 constellations modern astronomers have divided the sky into. It's part of the Ursa Major constellation family. Ursa Minor is best seen in June (from latitudes +90° to -10°)

The constellation is a valuable navigational tool used by travelers to find the Little Dipper and locate Polaris, the North Star. The North Star’s distance above the horizon is roughly equivalent to latitude. In the sky the two bears stand back to back, facing in opposite directions, with the tail of Draco the dragon between them. Ursa Minor is the child of Callisto placed in the sky by Zeus.
