Rusty past away today (10-9-12) unexpectedly, in his sleep. He left behind so many wonderful memories in his short nine years here on earth. Memories that will last me and so many adoring fans a life time. Rusty touched the hearts of all who got the opportunity to meet him and to experience his amazing display of absolute unconditional love for all. Children and adults alike adored him. Rusty was a beautiful and loving Collie who greeted all who visited Rusty's Pets each and every day with such love that I don't know how to express it in words. It was as if he were an angel sent here to earth as a beacon of Pure Love. Rusty, I will miss you so very, very much. Part of me goes with you. I know you are in peace in the heavens as you were in life here on earth. When I feel lonely , or sad or, need a little guidance in my life, I will look up to the heavens and know all is well for you will be smiling down on me. You will always Shine Bright in my heart. And Now, in the heavens. Until we meet again. Love always.

This is the first Christmas you are not with me. I miss you so very, very much. You were only eight weeks old when you came into my life – just one week before Christmas in 2002. The love and joy you brought to me on December 18th. 2002 made it the best Christmas I have ever had. I have been coming to Rusty’s since its start back in the day. I would bring my Rocky dog way in the beginning, then my Rover whom I found there…then My Maltese, Romeo & Juliet and there family Elvis, Bear, & Lobo…they have all gone to Rainbow Heaven…
I know your beautiful Rusty is there playing & running around waiting for the day you join him…Such a beautiful furry Baby!
Last year my new pup Sancho Pansa had the honor of meeting Rusty a couple of times…Rusty was so gentle with him…So sorry for your loss …will look at that star as Rusty was a LOVE STAR!

To those Rusty left behind he will always be remembered as that gentle giant who greeted us with unconditional love. Whether you came in to buy a cheap toy and load up with bags of premium dog food, he greeted each customer the same. He cared not about our race, religion or sexual orientation; he greeted us all equally. Rusty was God’s ambassador here on earth. His mission was to teach us to live life to the fullest, but never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life. He taught us to play hard and take lots of naps. His work was done and the Lord called him home. If we all live our lives as Rusty lived his, this would indeed be a wonderful world. Job well done Rusty; rest in peace knowing Terry and all your other care givers will forever be touched by your presence here on earth.

Rusty was always a comfort at the store. His relaxed demeanor showed my pups that it was ok to get their nails trimmed there. He always gently greeted them and calmed their fears. What a beautiful example he was to hundreds of other dogs and people….and how fitting that he has a star in his name. What a beautiful tribute. Rusty was one of the prettiest/friendliest dogs ever.I would come to the store and he would be in front of the Sushi place or Dominoes and come and greet me. Looked forward to my visits at Rusty’s place because he was like a big bro that I could hang with and act “cool”. My parents approved of our friendship due to the good influence he was on me. He also knew how to party at Halloween, Christmas, and Easter. I was so sad last night to hear from Julie Chadwick that dear Rusty passed away. I’ve some to the store for so many years and always enjoyed seeing him waiting near the front door and greeting everyone. Terry would alway say how Rusty was trained not to step off the curb into the busy parking lot. I snapped a pic last time I was at the store a couple of weeks ago that I’ll upload of Rusty and Terry. I am so sad to hear the news of Rusty’s passing. As someone who raised collies for many years, I always felt Rusty was so special, such a loving and sweet dog and I always loved seeing him when I came to the store for supplies or grooming for my kitty, Sadie. It is so hard to lost the pets we love so much, but as my vet said to me when I had to make the decision to put one of my pets to sleep, “I don’t know about people, but I know dogs and kittys go to heaven,” so I have always prayed for those pets I loved so much that they rest in peace in kitty or doggie heaven. Amazing to see how many people were exactly like me — hoping Rusty would be there when they got to the shop. So glad I got to see you, Rusty, just two days before you went to heaven, and Sparky and Daisy the greyhounds got to greet you there …. You are in a better place now, I know, and we will come to you. I always enjoyed coming to the store and have Rusty greet my Annie as if you say “check out the treats we just got in!”. My Annie passed away 2 months ago. She will meet you at the Rainbow Bridge to let you know where the treats are there my sweet friend.
